I am contacting you to express serious concerns highlighted in the press today regarding expenses being paid to assembly members living outside Wales.  Neil Hamilton, Assembly Member UKIP, appears to be a member that this affects.  It is my view that Mr Hamilton was aware of the rules around expenses at the time of standing for election so it is extremely worrying, as a taxpayer all my working and retired life, that it is now being debated to possibly change the rules to accommodate members like him which will be funded out of taxpayers money.

Given the current climate when we are constantly being asked to understand and support the cutbacks in essential services, I think it is totally inappropriate to even consider this change and extremely worrying that there could be a change to the rule.

I would appreciate it that you all discuss this with your Party Members in the assembly and e.mail me with your feedback.

I look forward to your response.
